More Self Love, Baby girl ❣️

Is it just me, or does it feel like we spend our days rushing from one task to another at work and home only to drop into our beds at midnight... mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted? 🙄

Our society has changed drastically when it comes to how we spend our time. Today we are addicted to speed, see busyness as a status symbol, and work as many hours as possible to keep up with the Joneses.

So it’s really no surprise most of us put ourselves last on the list and tend to ignore our own needs. It’s not on purpose, it just feels like there’s simply not the time to do more than grab food on the go and snag a few hours of sleep, and a quick shower before starting it all again. (Seriously— how did we survive before dry shampoo?!)🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you ever stop to wonder if this is REALLY the way you want to live? 😦

We somehow find it easier to make time for other people’s needs than we do our own.

And when we do make it a priority to find time for ourselves we feel guilty or think we may be considered selfish or self-centered. Since we don’t want others to view us in that way, we soldier on, pushing through instead.

BUT what we should do is to take a break so that we can take care of ourselves and our energy—because you deserve to thrive in life, not just survive one day to the next!💯

And I GET IT—it’s easier to say we’ll start prioritizing ourselves first than it is to do.

With all the daily pressure we feel, self-care can just feel like just one more thing on our to-do list.

#REALTALK, it’s vital to our physical and mental health to start making ourselves a priority! It’s not just a nice idea.

And we aren’t talking about taking a yearly vacation (if we’re lucky). It’s not even about taking the occasional trip to the day spa or enjoying a day with the girls.

Its about choosing to put yourself first needs to be an ongoing, daily habit.💪🏼

So why is putting our own needs first so vital to health, happiness, and success?

• It prevents burn-out

• It sets you up to live a fulfilled, joyful life

• It keeps you focused on what’s important

• It helps you refocus when you feel overwhelmed or at a loss as to what should come next

• It helps to recuperate from stress so that it doesn’t build up

So, as ya can see— filling your cup first isn’t a reward, but a necessity.❣️

I wanna know...

• Do you struggle with prioritizing YOU?

• What ways do you love to put yourself first?
